"Fedora" Mystery Reading Draws a Crowd

October 25, 2017

Rabbi Arthur Gross Schaefer's book signing and reading at Chaucer's Bookstore for his latest mystery, The Rabbi Wore a Fedora, drew a crowd of almost 60 people. This second installment of the Rabbi Daniels Mysteries finds Rabbi Daniels heading off to Germany with a group of Evangelical students. When he is implicated in the murder of local woman, things get dicey. This novel, as with his first, The Rabbi Wore Moccasins, blends historical and spiritual themes into twisted plots.

Kirkus Reviews says of Fedora:

"Gross-Schaefer skillfully braids the historical and mystical, investigating the spiritual crisis that, from the very beginning of the tale, appears in (Rabbi) Daniels’ dreams. This is also an astute introduction to the history of European Jewry."
